When is the best time to visit the Omo Valley?
The dry season from October to March offers the easiest road access and the most active market and ceremony calendar. Bull-jumping ceremonies are seasonal; we time itineraries around them wherever possible.
Which tribes will I visit?
Depending on your route and the market days, you may meet the Mursi, Hamar, Karo, Dassanech, Bana, Ari and Konso peoples. Your guide tailors the villages and markets to your dates and interests.
Is photography of the tribes allowed?
Yes, but always with consent. In some villages a small per-photo fee is customary; your guide manages this transparently so encounters stay respectful and mutually beneficial.
How many days do I need for the Omo Valley?
A focused tribal loop takes about four to six days from Addis Ababa. Longer 8–14 day itineraries add the Rift Valley lakes, Bale Mountains or the historic north.
