Your 3 Days Danakil Depression Tour begins with a flight from Addis Ababa to Semera with flight number ET110,(06:45-08:10), followed by a scenic 5–6 hour drive through the Afar region to Hamed Ela. En route, stop at the beautiful Lake Afdera — a warm salt lake perfect for a refreshing swim and lunch break.

In the evening, arrive at the desert camp of Hamed Ela and visit Lake Asale, famous for its endless salt flats and glowing sunset views. Relax with a drink as you enjoy one of the most surreal landscapes on Earth.

Overnight: Open-air camping at Hamed Ela

After breakfast, travel to the otherworldly Dalol Depression, one of the lowest places on Earth. Explore its colorful mineral formations, salt fields, and the salt canyons with breathtaking structures.

Continue by 4×4 to Erta Ale Volcano, crossing dramatic lava fields and desert terrain. In the evening, hike to the summit to witness the spectacular lava lake glowing beneath the night sky — a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
