Meet your guide at pickup point and drive 152kms south-west of the capital to lake Wonchi. The place is accessed from Addis via Ambo or Wolliso towns. Lake wonchi was formed in a volcanic crater, resulting in a stunning landscape surrounded by steep cliffs and lush vegetation. On arrival you will come face to face with a breathtaking view of beautiful emerald lake dotted with small islands surrounded by verdant forest.
In 2021 UNWTO recognized this pristine volcanic lake as the best tourism village. Immerse yourself in a pleasant 2 hours hike surrounded by beautiful nature and serene atmosphere and a fun-filled activity of horse riding and mud bathing around the hot spring.
Board a local boat to visit the historical 13th century Wonchi Cherkos church before departing for Addis. Stop for lunch in the town of Wolliso in Negash lodge an interesting place with forested premises where colobus monkeys, grivet monkeys and various bird specious roam. Next drive to Addis arriving in good time.
