Departing Addis Ababa at 8:30 AM, we take a short, comfortable drive to Bishoftu. Our first stop is Lake Hora, one of the largest and deepest crater lakes in the area. Known for its abundant birdlife—including pelicans, herons, and kingfishers—we take a guided walk along the rim and a traditional boat trip to explore the shoreline. This lake is also culturally significant as a site for the annual Irreecha thanksgiving festival of the Oromo people.
For lunch, we head to a premier lakeside resort overlooking Lake Babogaya or Lake Kuriftu. Enjoy a variety of Ethiopian and international dishes while taking in the tranquil views of the turquoise waters. After lunch, you have time for leisure: choose between a relaxing spa treatment, a swim in a resort pool, or a peaceful stroll through the lush gardens that line the volcanic cliffs.

After a full day of Rift Valley discovery, we begin our short return journey, arriving back in Addis Ababa by 5:30 PM.
